TaraPedOT was established to provide pediatric Occupational Therapy to help infants, toddlers, and children achieve milestones, independence and confidence in their play, self-help, social, motor, cognitive, sensory skills.
With over 15 years of experience, Tara has experience in the school systems, in private sensory integration clinics and in the home and community settings. After switching to teletherapy during the pandemic, she realized this is where her true passion lies. The ability to reach more kids and families and be able to provides individualized therapeutic interventions in the child's home or in the community environment via a telehealth platform is not only convenient, but also proven effective. The research is out and telehealth occupational therapy WORKS. Telehealth allows caregivers to have the flexibility in times as well as be active participants to help their child achieve their maximum potential.
Tara's goal is to help individuals reach their maximum potential by using a variety of techniques and approaches that make learning fun! Treatment sessions incorporate a variety of approaches and frameworks to best address each individuals needs. Some of Tara's approaches include: play, sensory integration, Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), DIR Floortime Method, Interactive Metronome, Rhythmic Movement Training, massage therapy, therapeutic listening, Handwriting Without Tears, verbal behavior therapy and advanced training related to autism spectrum disorders.
